OUR COACHES

Joseph Noell

I played baseball for eight years, and for the past eight years I’ve had the privilege of coaching young athletes. Coaching is about so much more than teaching the game—it’s about helping players grow into confident, resilient, and respectful people.

My coaching philosophy is built around developing the whole athlete. I want players who are willing to learn, eager to be coached, and hungry to improve every single day. Growth doesn’t happen without mistakes, so I teach my athletes to embrace challenges, learn from failure, and bounce back stronger when things don’t go the way they hoped. Resilience is a skill just like hitting, throwing, or fielding.

One of the principles I coach by is F.E.A.R.:
Focus. Effort. Attitude. Respect.

These four values are the foundation of everything we do. I can’t control every outcome of a game, but I can expect my players to stay focused, give their best effort, bring a positive attitude, and show respect—for themselves, their teammates, their coaches, their opponents, and the game.

I also believe softball IQ is just as important as physical ability. Learning the game, understanding situations, making smart decisions, and thinking one play ahead are all skills that help athletes succeed long after the final out.

As a coach, I strive to be calm, steady, and supportive. I want every athlete to know they have someone who believes in them, challenges them, and helps them become the best version of themselves.

At the end of the day, we’re here because we love this game. But we’re also here to learn how to be good humans with strong morals, character, and values. Who my players are on the field matters—but who they become in the world matters most.

With over 10 years of baseball experience, including five years as a catcher, I bring a strong defensive mindset and a passion for developing athletes both on and off the field. I have spent the past five seasons coaching girls fastpitch softball, helping players build confidence, sharpen their skills, and compete at a high level.

As the father of a 12U catcher and a 14U first baseman, I understand the game from both the dugout and the stands. I was part of an Idaho 10U State Championship coaching staff and am committed to creating competitive teams built on hard work, accountability, and a love for the game.

More importantly, I believe softball is about more than wins and losses. My faith in God, dedication to family, and pride as a “girl dad” shape the way I coach. My mission is to help young athletes become not only stronger softball players but also confident, respectful, and resilient young women who succeed both on and off the field.

Softball has always been more than just a game to me—it’s been a way of life. I started playing at eight years old, and I’ve never looked back. As a three-sport athlete in high school, I was fortunate to earn a Division I softball scholarship to San Jose State University, where I continued to grow both as a player and a competitor. After college, I kept my passion alive through competitive slowpitch softball.

The only time I stepped away from the game was to welcome my daughter, Joey. When I returned, I earned a spot on the USA Futures slowpitch team, and today I’m incredibly grateful to still be traveling the country competing in my forties while also coaching my daughter.

I believe success is built through hard work, resilience, and mental toughness. Opportunities don’t just happen—they’re earned by those willing to put in the work day after day. I was never the most naturally gifted athlete, but I developed a relentless work ethic that has carried me farther than talent alone ever could.

Now, my greatest passion is pouring into the next generation of athletes. I love helping each young woman grow—not just as a softball player, but as a confident, resilient person. Watching the game finally “click” for a player, seeing her confidence take off, and knowing she believes in herself is one of the most rewarding experiences imaginable.

I truly love this game, and I’m passionate about sharing everything it has given me with the girls I have the privilege to coach.

I have been coaching for most of my adult life, pouring my heart into helping young athletes grow both on and off the field. I spent 8 years coaching youth basketball and more than 10 years coaching fast‑pitch softball, building a reputation for patience, positivity, and genuine care for his players.

Before coaching, I competed in the Japan industrial leagues and played catcher for the USA Yokohama Mets. My love for the game continued through my family—my oldest daughter went on to play catcher at the Division II level.

Coaching is truly my passion. I believe in creating an environment where players feel supported, challenged, and excited to learn. Fun is always part of the plan, because when athletes enjoy the game, everything else—including winning—falls into place.

Softball has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I played for nine years growing up, and some of my best memories were made on and off the field with my teammates.

I’ve coached both recreational and travel softball. I’m passionate about helping young athletes build confidence, develop their skills, and grow both on and off the field.

I’m grateful to play a small role in each player’s journey and love sharing my passion for the game.

Assistant Coach + Catching Expert

Macy  Walker

I’ve played softball my entire life, competing on club teams that traveled all over the country and learning every position on the field. I signed to play in college as a utility, with catcher as my primary spot, and earned All-American honors my freshman year. This sport has shaped every part of who I am—leading me to Idaho and even influencing the career path I’ve chosen. I truly believe softball teaches lessons that go far beyond the field, lessons you carry with you for life. I’m super excited to help build strength, confidence, and grit in your girls and share the love for the game that’s given me so much!!
